An evening with a case to solve

A solo detective game you can play online.

Settle in with a case and follow the detail you can’t quite explain. Our solo detective games run in your browser, with all the evidence available to one player and hints when you need them.

One player · All the evidence · No enforced timer

A woman concentrating on her laptop at home, with a notebook and mug beside her

A complete investigation for one player.

Read a statement, then put it beside the message that made you doubt it. When you play alone, you can stay with a question for as long as you like. Every record needed to solve the case is yours to examine as the investigation opens up.

These text-based detective games unfold through messages, witness accounts and documents. In When You Hear My Voice, recordings appear as written transcripts, so you can go back to the exact words. You won’t need another player to reveal a missing part of the story.

Leave room to change your mind.

Keep your working theory in the in-game Notebook, alongside the details it still cannot explain. The time on a message tells you when it was sent; why someone sent it may be less certain. Return to the original record when those two things start to blur.

If you get stuck, open one hint and see where it takes you. You can reveal more help as you need it, or leave the question open while you look through the evidence again.

Choose your first case.
